Minol-ZENNER Managing Director

Alexander Lehmann

becomes new partner at GP JOULE

The two founders of GP JOULE, Ove Petersen and Heinrich Gärtner, are further expanding their partnership with Alexander Lehmann, the Managing Director of the Minol-ZENNER Group.

Reußenköge, December 2020. At the end of 2019, the Minol-ZENNER Group had already acquired a stake in GP JOULE CONNECT GmbH, the mobility division of GP JOULE. Since then, the two companies have jointly developed a complete portfolio of solutions for electromobility and sharing specifically for the housing industry and municipal utilities.

The next step is to shape the future together: At the beginning of November, Alexander Lehmann also acquired shares in GP JOULE Holding from the two founders, Ove Petersen and Heinrich Gärtner. What the three have in common is their common vision of the future role of renewable energy sources and mobility in the energy industry and society.

Sector coupling in focus

Alexander Lehmann is the Managing Partner of the family-run Minol-ZENNER Group, which employs around 4,000 people worldwide. There is a good reason for why Lehmann is committed to the topic of renewable energy. As a service company and provider of digitalisation guidance for the real estate and energy industry, the Minol-ZENNER Group has successfully positioned itself as a leading provider of measurement technology, sensor technology and IoT solutions. The group’s portfolio includes solutions for almost all areas of the energy industry, from measurement and sensor technology to IoT infrastructure solutions, platform technologies to digital solutions for the housing industry, big data analysis and – together with GP JOULE – since 2019 in the areas of electromobility and sharing also.

Now the investor is also building on GP JOULE’s commitment in the fields of hydrogen and sector coupling by developing and expanding the necessary infrastructure and sales channels. This year, GP JOULE implemented the eFarm collaborative project as a driving force and expert in sector coupling. The largest green hydrogen mobility project in Germany to date comprises the production, transport, processing and marketing of hydrogen from wind and solar energy.

Important impetus for the growth process of GP JOULE

“GP JOULE is even better positioned for the future thanks to the participation of Mr Lehmann and the expanded cooperation with the Minol-ZENNER Group. The housing industry and municipal utilities are important drivers for renewable energy and sustainable mobility. We can now work together and purposefully on this rapidly growing market that lies ahead of us. By investing in our business model, we can initiate the next growth steps,” says Ove Petersen, happily.

Alexander Lehmann adds: “GP JOULE’s concept of creating new, local economic cycles and value chains, from the generation of renewable energy to consumption onsite, had already convinced us when we started last year. Our very first collaboration in the field of electromobility was aimed at providing an entry point for the Minol-ZENNER Group. I am therefore very pleased to be intensifying this collaboration again and thus promoting the long-term decarbonisation of our energy cycle through the use of hydrogen in the areas of energy and mobility.”

Minol primarily addresses the housing industry, while ZENNER focuses on the municipal and energy industries. As a system provider for integrated energy solutions, GP JOULE has valuable expertise in both areas with which both partners can expand their business. GP JOULE makes entry into the housing industry easier, Minol-ZENNER benefits from the energy know-how of the GP JOULE Group, using which they can make their customers’ properties more attractive through sustainable energy and mobility concepts.

Added value for the energy and housing industry

For example, the electromobility solutions from GP JOULE CONNECT can upgrade new residential areas or already built-up areas for battery or hydrogen-powered electric vehicles and shared mobility offers, thus improving the carbon footprint of these districts. This enables housing companies and administrators to offer their owners and tenants completely new added value for everything to do with residential living.

Even municipal companies such as municipal utilities and energy providers who want to set up a charging infrastructure or enter the sharing business can now get the entire process from a single source: from sustainable energy generation, the construction and the technical and commercial daily operation of the infrastructure to advice in all commercial and legal matters.
